Playing with Purpose
Playing with Purpose was founded by combining two great passions: Love of sports and a desire to do good, give back and support the local communities in which we play. To date, NJ Play Sports and Playing with Purpose have raised and donated over $100,000 to local and national charities that have meaning to our players and their families.
Each league that NJ Play Sports hosts has a charity element built-in. At the conclusion of each league, a portion of proceeds are donated to Playing with Purpose which will be contributed to a foundation of our choice. Our mission is to support foundations that encourage equitable access and positive experiences in youth sports.
We believe that positive experiences in youth sports help children learn valuable life skills; building relationships, teamwork, confidence and improving overall physical, mental and emotional health and well being. Having an equitable sports options and access should be a right for all children. Access to equitable programs not only effects the lives of the children participating in them, but their families, their communities, and the world at large. It is our goal to help support foundations that encourage equitable access and positive experiences in youth sports. By doing so, we will ensure that foundations we partner with to support are helping to ensure that local, affordable and quality sports options are available to all children.
Partnering with Eric LeGrand, Team LeGrand and the Christopher & Dana Reeve Foundation to produce annual Eric LeGrand Flag Football & Cornhole Tournaments is another way Playing with Purpose is getting involved in the community. Each year is an absolute pleasure working with Eric and team to host bigger and better events.
