Summary (Indoor Rules may vary slightly)
- 10 fielders per team (Minimum 3 Women)
- Rosters must consist of at least 13 players 
- All players present are required to kick
- No Bunting! 
- Each non-roster sub must register in advance on our website and pay $10 sub fee at field before playing
- No subs permitted during playoffs
- Game will consist of 9 innings or 50 minutes whichever comes first (no new innings with start after 50 minutes)
- 1 inning will be played if the score is tied after 9 innings and time permits.
- Tie games at game completion with result in a tie for each team
- Games called after 3 innings will be considered a complete game
- There is a 7 run limit per inning except in the last inning 
- All players must arrive on-time to avoid forfeiture of game(Game time is forfeit time)
- All games are RAIN or SHINE (unless hazardous conditions) 
- Any unsportsmanlike conduct will result in that player/team being suspended/removed from participating in future NJ Play activities, at the discretion of NJ Play officials.

SUMMARY

NJ Play Sports Softball League Rules

• 10 players on the field minimum of (3) male plays and minimum of (3) female players
• 8 players, including 1 of each gender required at game time to avoid a forfeit
• Modified arc pitching rules: arc must be between 6' and 12'
• All players present on each team are required to bat
• No Bunting!
• A direct hit up the middle of the field will result in an automatic out!
• No Metal Cleats allowed
• No more than 3 of each gender may bat in a row in the batting order
• Each non-roster sub must pay a $10 sub fee and sign the waiver prior to the start of the game (Subs will wear own t-shirt closely matching team colors)
• No Subs allowed during playoffs

SUMMARY

• 6 players on the field maximum
• 4 players required at game time to avoid a forfeit
• Two 25-minute halves with 1-3 minute half times. Running time for first half, 23 minute running second half with 2 minute stop time if game within 16 points
• Ball will be spotted where the players hips/flags are at the conclusion of the play
• Offensive Line Blocking, Downfield Blocking and Five Yard Chuck/Bump are allowed (No Shoulder Blocking/Checking)
• No picks allowed
• Each team will have a series of four (4) downs to advance the ball from one zone to another. Mid-field is the only first down. Failure to do so in four downs results in loss of the ball to the opponent. If you start the possession on your opponent's side of mid-field the count will be 1^st and Goal.
