NJ Play Sports separates many of its programs by SKILL LEVEL. These skill levels are designed to help new players understand what to expect when signing up.

We allow players and teams to grade themselves and choose the skill level that best matches the experience they are looking for.
 

This does not mean that a competitively skilled player cannot play in a recreational or novice league. However, we do expect them to show up each week in the spirit of fun, helping others get better, and having a good time.

Novice
Fun introductory league for those with very little to no experience playing organized [sport].

Recreational
Fun league for those without recent experience playing organized [sport].

Intermediate
Players have usually played in high school or other organized leagues.

Competitive
Teams and players who have played in college/varsity high school. Also includes those with professional experience.
